About Blany

Hi, I’m Blány. A mum of 3 and lucky to be living in the seaside town of Bray, Co. Wicklow.

Growing up, spirituality and alternative medicine were present in our house from my parents. From being cleansed with sage sticks doing the Leaving Cert (mum) to drinking home-made Kombucha (dad).

I originally started out on my path in holistic therapies then life choices steered me in a different direction where I studied HR and followed a career in financial services.

The undercurrent of a holistic path always remained in me and continued to present itself.

Attracted to power yoga in my early 20s, for the benefits of strengthening and toning, I was subsequently drawn to the ritualistic and spiritual practice it represented.

Later, I met an inspiring yoga teacher who told me yoga is not just a practice but a lifestyle. This statement resonated with me and made me enquire further. In 2013, I Travelled to India and Nepal where my attraction and enquiry to spirituality, yoga and ayurveda grew.

I completed my First yoga Teacher Training in 2016 with beautiful teacher, Teresa Murphy Moore of Sacred Space Yoga in Wicklow with whom I studied 300 hours in Vinyasa Flow and Vinyasa Power Yoga.

I was then introduced to Stephen Brandon (Vinyasa Krama Yoga Institute), a student of Srivatasa Ramaswami, through Ananta, Wicklow, who I studied with from 2019 to 2023. I completed 300 hours of Vinyasa Krama practitioner and teacher training with Stephen.

Vinyasa Krama has inspired me to continue its lineage. These teachings have been handed down from Tirumalai Krishnamacharya and received by his students, including his own children, with great respect and gratitude.

Vinyasa Krama is Authentic Traditional Yoga in the tradition of Sri T Krishnamacharya.

The practice is designed to be tailored to the individual and as such, has 700 postures, a variety of sequences and multiple breathing techniques. This tradition has been handed down through a lineage of committed, knowledgeable teachers. Every class, group or individual, is unique and has its roots in spirituality and the inner self.

My goal is to continue to learn and grow in this tradition sharing the wisdom I’ve been taught with any willing student enabling them to live healthily, lovingly and happily.

With an increase in the pace of our lives and instant technology, any time taken to withdraw and self-care through nourishing practices is beneficial in reducing our reactions to what life throws at us daily.

I look forward to seeing you on the mat.
