About Elaine

Elaine Barry Physio came about as an online resource first and foremost. Elaine began sharing free information in 2019 including helpful tips and videos to help her client base. Elaine could also see how waiting lists were growing and how many were still not getting good, evidence-based information regarding their pelvic health.

‘Simple tools and tricks, habits and changes to lifestyle can ultimately transform people’s quality of life’

Elaine has been Chartered Physiotherapist since qualifying from UCD in 2001. Following her junior training years Elaine completed her Masters in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy from University College London. Elaine then went on to work in the private sector, spending a lot of time in sports and general musculoskeletal health before specialising in Pelvic Health in 2013 when she joined Milltown Physiotherapy.

‘It was there that my education and professional development grew enormously under the guidance and support of the great team at Milltown’

During the pandemic, Elaine started to see women in Bray Women’s Health Centre and this service grew quickly such that she needed more space. This led to the opening of her new ‘space’ in Bray.

‘I hope this will be a safe space for you to come and see me moving forward. I hope to continue my online resources so that people all over the country can help themselves find the best care, and self manage using physiotherapy and wellness based interventions’

Elaine has treated many women through pregnancy , postnatally and also into their menopausal years teaching them about their pelvic health and helping them manage and resolve symptoms and pain. I have seen many cases of pelvic pain and vaginismus. I also treat men with pelvic health dysfunction particularly pre/ post prostatectomy.

‘I combine in-depth knowledge with kindness, understanding and empathy. I want you to feel comfortable coming to me about what may seem difficult conditions. Know that at my goal to help you feel educated, empowered and more in control of your condition and health’
